The extended jockey wheel makes levelling the van more convenient in undulating situations. As opposed to say a fixed electric jacking system, the jockey wheel makes coupling a “pin” style hitch such as the DO-35 much easier by providing some movement in situations of slight misalignment between coupling & pin.
